We now have owls with bright gold eyes staring at us from the wall.  Whoos-It (20″ x 21″) is now officially completed and the 7th quilt finish of the year.  It has been fun making and finishing small wallhangings for this quilt hanger.

Last Thursday and Friday was busy spent machine quilting Nifty Thrifty.  Right now I am hand stitching the binding down.  It should be finished in the next couple of days and then I will post a picture of it.

Friday Update

The small wallhanging top Whoos-It (21 1/2″ x 22 1/2″) is finished.  It took longer than I thought it would to sew all the eyes on the owls.

I am happy with the end result and plan to get it machine quilted in the next couple of weeks.  This weekend I will be sewing another Lincoln block.  I need to get busy so that the Lincoln quilt top is completed by May.

Whoos-It Wallhanging

Judy at Patchwork Times was working on a deer quilt during her January Quiltathon.  When I saw the picture of her quilt, I realized that I also had a pattern from the same designer Majorie Rhine except mine was owls.  I had too many other projects going in January, but I had time this week and started on it.

I bought the graduated fabric on the right for this project.  The plan is to make the wallhanging size with narrower borders so that it will fit on my hanger upstairs.  The directions are for a wallhanging size of 27″ x 28″ with three borders, but wallhanging will be around 20″ x 22″.

The buttonhole stitching around the owls is completed and now I need to add the eyes.  Hopefully I will have this top finished this weekend.
