Lazy Eyes Bound

The second quilt is finished!

030213 (1024x1012)The quilt measures 59″ square.  I like how the little squares dance around in a circle within each block.

This is one of my fastest finishes.  The top, quilting and binding was all completed in February.

I am getting ready to start the binding on the next top.  What are you working on?

I have been working on Lazy Eyes blocks from the Strip Therapy 2 book by Brenda Henning.  This was my quilt guild sewing project and I posted about it during this post.

But during the January meeting I decided that I was tired of making these blocks and how many I had was just going to be enough.  I had made 66 blocks, which will make a nice sized quilt.  At first I was going to sew the blocks into larger units that looked like this.

It was fast to sew the four 6″ blocks together to make a 12″ block.  I had enough blocks to make 16 large blocks with 2 left over, so it became a 4 x 4 block layout.  It did take some time to decide on a sashing fabric, but in the end I picked a red polka dot.  The quilt top was finished this morning and measures 61″ x 61″.  I like how the blocks seem to be floating on the background.

The next project is six Bermuda Sunrise blocks for a team community quilt.  The February quilt guild meeting is this coming Saturday, so I had better get busy.

Talk to you later,
