Design Wall Monday

Recently the Quilt Inspiration website ran a eight part series on wedding ring quilts and patterns.  All the quilts were wonderful, but this is the pattern that got my attention.

022413A (1024x798)It is from the book Link to the ’30s: Making the Quilts We Didn’t Inherit.  I personally don’t care for 30s fabric, but I can visualize the quilts in different colorways.  The theme for my version of this quilt is autumn.

Today has been a binding day, but I wanted to make a test block.

022413B (1024x984)With lots of pinning and careful sewing the block ended up at the correct size.  This is going to be fun!  Right now I plan on using a print as the border without scallops.  Of course these plans are always subject to last minute changes.

Check out what everyone is doing at Judy’s Design Wall Monday link.

Thank you for visiting my blog. It is always interesting to me how a pattern can change with different color/fabric choices. I hope you return to see the completed quilt top.
