Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll

Roll, Roll, Cotton Boll was the 2010 mystery quilt by Bonnie Hunter and is now featured in her newest book – String Fling.  I worked on this quilt from October thru December 2010, but when 2011 rolled around this quilt was set aside.  I don’t even remember why it was abandoned, however now it is time to complete this UFO.

This is where I was when it was packed up and put away.  Bonnie Hunter used greens and pinks in her quilt, while I used blues and purples in mine.  There were only thirteen blocks left to make before the rows could be sewn together.

These pictures were taken on Friday and after sewing all day Saturday the quilt top now looks like this:

All that is left are the two borders – an inner border and a pieced outer border.  I don’t have a good place to take a picture of such a large quilt (85″ x 100″ when finished).

Bonnie is going to be posting yardage requirements and directions for her 2012 mystery quilt in a couple of weeks.  This quilt top should be done so that I can consider starting on her new mystery.

Great job on getting your quilt to the “Top” stage. I would have never guessed purple would look do nice with blues. Really gives those blocks a little punch. 😉

    Keep on keepin’
