Log Cabin Finish for the 4th of July

I finished hand sewing the binding on this Oriental Log Cabin quilt today.

It would have been finished 4 or 5 days ago but I had some tension problems which involved several days of “unsewing”.  This quilt measures 42 1/2″ x 52″.

The picture is a little dark because of the rain, but I was so thankful for the moisture so I am not complaining.

Here is a future project from the Hot Flashes quilt leftovers.

In making the Hot Flashes blocks, you cut off the corner and add a solid black triangle.  Using the cut off triangle, I sewed the small blocks on the left.  I think that they are really striking with the solid black.  There are enough triangles to make 16 blocks which should make a cute doll quilt.  I have a few other projects to finish up first, but I plan on working on this one leaders and enders style.

Happy Independence Day
