Design Wall Monday on Wednesday 11-29-17

Belated Happy Thanksgiving.  Things have been really rocking around here, but tonight I found a few moments to catch up.

The middle of last week, I decided that I needed a plan if I was going to get all the projects on my goal list finished by the end of the year.  So I sat down with a calendar to plan my daily quilting goals starting with machine quilting 4 quilt tops over the long Thanksgiving weekend.

First up was this quilt top which is the largest one.  Since I need 6 more quilt finishes to make my yearly goal of 25, I stacked the odds in my favor by picking out smaller tops to finish.  Friday I started the machine quilting on this top.

As you can see, right now I am not concerned with binding – just the machine quilting.  Next up was this rail fence set on point quilt top.

And Sunday was spent working on this one.

It was time to take a break from machine quilting and get back to some piecing, so the next project to finish is Wild Child.  Half of the center is completed with only 20 neutral background blocks left to put together.

If I can keep up with my daily sewing, this top will be finished next Tuesday.  Right now I have two sides on the remaining 20 blocks so I think that I am doing good.  If Wild Child is finished before Tuesday, I will trim and bind one of the machine quilted tops.

Wow, you’re on fire! I see some nice aquas and browns in a couple of those projects …

I was so tempted to start Bonnie Hunter’s 2017 mystery quilt because I really like her color selections, but I need to stay focused on finishing up my current projects. Maybe next year

    Hi Marlene,
I too, am tempted by Bonnie Hunter’s mystery quilt, but I am holding firmly to my resolve to finish some other projects before I start one of her quilts. Glad to know I’m not alone! Stay focused! Thanks for linking with Design Wall Monday, Judy
