Lincoln Quilt Update

Proof that I have been (slowly) working on the Lincoln quilt.  It really gives a good idea of how the center will look when it is completed.

I added all the neutral triangle corners to the checkerboard triangles,

sewed all the remaining setting triangles,

and made the last corner triangle – oops! forgot to take a picture of it.

This weekend I will be sewing all the 9-patch cornerstones and the rail fence sashing units.  Once that is done, I will start with the corner LeMoyne stars  to finish the last three blocks.

The details for the outer border still haven’t been finalized, but I am excited to see the center of this quilt completed.  What a journey this has been!

Thank you. I am so close to having the center completed that it is making me crazy, but it will be a finished quilt top before the end of the year.

I am following your progress avidly. I too have the BHG book and found the original pattern online which has a swag border. I plan to make it in blues for the Houston Sapphire show in 2019. I LUV how your are setting it!

Thank you. I have enjoyed the challenge of piecing this block and coming up with a new layout design for it. Please send me a picture of your progress with the Lincoln quilt – I would love to see it.
