Pocket Full of Posies

Pocket Full of Posies is the name I decided to give to my Primitive Gathering 10th Anniversary Stitch-Along wallhanging.  Here the center wool applique is finished along with the first border.

The striped brown border is my first design change to this project.  The directions called for the borders to be attached top & bottom, then sides.  Instead using a partial seam I sewed them on log cabin style.

The next border for part 2 was HST.  The light fabric included in the kit was a dark light, but I wanted to lighten up the quilt and provide more contrast so I substituted a light light.  I also decided to go with dancing triangles instead of soldiers all in a row.

Part three includes some more wool applique – flowers in the corner blocks.  Before I start on them I want to hand stitch the binding on the Long Time Gone quilt.  I will have a two year-old little helper this weekend, so it will be interesting to see how much I can accomplish.
