Design Wall Monday 02-08-16

The Dancing 4-Patches quilt is finished.  I quilted the top with a square meandering design.

The quilt measures 52 1/2″ x 59″ and will be a charity quilt sometime in the future.

I did have a project in mind for this last weekend, but the flag blocks YELLED at me.  I started piecing them together just to shut them up.  Originally I had 16 blocks, but two were gifted to a friend to turn into holiday placemats.  I had decided to make two charity quilts so that meant 7 flag blocks and 2 alternate blocks in each one.

I found some patriotic bears to use as the alternate block.  The center of the top is finished – all that is left is a 2 1/2″ outer border.  The binding will be the same blue as the cornerstones.  The second flag quilt will be basically the same except that the flag blocks are darker blue and different bears.  I started this on Friday, so I am hoping to have both tops finished by the end of this week.  I have a blue, red & white variegated thread that I will use for quilting them.  It will be good to get them finished and donated to a new home.

Once these quilts are completed I will be working on some projects for me.

Linking up with Judy’s Design Wall Monday.

Congratulations Broncos,

Marlene
