Design Wall Monday 03-16-15

I have completed two more quilts in the first half of March for a total of four this year.  The first March finish is this wallhanging – 031615 (1000x1024)It is 25″ square with stitch in the ditch quilting.

The second finish is a Day & Night quilt from Eleanor Burn’s book.

031615A (794x1024)This quilt is 40″ x 53″.  This quilt top was pieced in 2010 before I started my blog.  I like the sharp contrast, but the quilt is not one of my favorites and I am not sure why – it may be because it is a two fabric quilt.  Anyway I am sure that it will find a good home as a community quilt.

I am also donating two quilt tops to a local quilt guild for finishing as community quilts.  The first top was pieced in 2011 and measures 46″ square.  This was a kit from Connecting Threads.

031615D (1024x1022)The second top is 50″ x 62″ and is one of the earliest quilt tops that I sewed – sometime between 2002 – 2005.

031615C (848x1024)If you have recently received a Keepsake Quilting catalog, you will recognize this pattern.  They show it made up in batiks.

Since both of these tops were pieced before I started my blog, I wanted a record of them before they flew off to a new home.  I have quite a pile of tops, so it feels good to donate these and know that they will be appreciated where ever they end up.

There are more quilt tops to be finished this month, so I had better get to work.

Check out all the quilting excitement at Judy’s Design Wall Monday.
