Design Wall Monday 02-09-15

The Oriental Dreams quilt top is completed.

020915 (831x1024) I have enough of the red fabric for the binding which will add a nice touch to the edge of the quilt.  The background is more golden than the picture shows.

This top would have been finished sooner, but I have been organizing – and petting – my stash.  I have three new shelving units for organizing my fabric.

020915A (751x1024)Fabric sorted by color & type and

020915B (684x1024)yardage washed, pressed and stacked by color.  This is going to be a long-term project – here is one of many piles that I need to sort and organize.

020915C (941x1024)The one positive thing about all this organizing is that I have no desire to buy new fabric.  Now that everything is visible and accessible, I really think that I will be “shopping my stash” frequently this year.

The next projects are an Oriental Churn Dash UFO and to machine quilt another top.

Linking up with Judy’s Design Wall Monday.

Seeing what you already have is a great deterrent to shopping! Looking good.

I agree with shopping my stash first this year. Getting organized really lets me see what I already have… and had forgotten about!! The red binding will look great on your quilt!
