Design Wall Monday 01-26-15

The Bali Star blocks are now a quilt top.

012615 (838x1024)The 3×5 block setting looked too long and narrow, so I decided to use 12 blocks in a 3×4 setting.  It ended up at 52 3/4″ x 67″ – a nice small lap size.  The remaining 3 blocks will be pieced into the backing.

The Carolina Chain blocks have also been sewn together similar to Bonnie Hunter’s setting.  I placed all the high contrast dark/light blocks down the center with the lower contrast blocks around the edges.

I feel like I got two bonus quilts from all the leftover fabric from Diamond Braid.  It has been fun playing with these blocks, but I am now ready to move on to something new.

Linking up with Patchwork Times Design Wall Monday.

Happy Quilting,

Marlene

I like what you are doing with Carolina Chain — nice balance of value. I vote for the brown as the inner border.

I like both the quilts. The Carolina chain is on my February list for my blue scraps.

The Carolina Chain is a fun block and a great leader & ender project. I think it will make a wonderful quilt with your blue scraps. Thank you for stopping by.
