Design Wall Monday 10-28-13

Thank you to everyone who left such nice comments about my Blue Ridge Beauty last week.  I am so inspired by the quilts that I see on the internet and the idea that I am inspiring someone else in return is humbling – overwhelming – awesome!

My current project is Cappuccino by Judy Niemeyer and is 1/3 complete.

102713 (1024x623)The strips hanging down are the fabric choices for the rest of the blocks.  The picture is a little dark, but the colors are crayon red and brown/gray in batiks.

The center of the quilt will be 42″ x51″ and then an inner and outer border will be added.  The long skinny spikes are a trademark of Judy Niemeyer and are paper pieced.  I hope to have all the blocks completed by the end of the week.

Check out other wonderful quilts at Patchwork Times.

Red/gray is my current favorite color combo. Planning a winter wall hanging for my LR in shades of red and icy grays. Can’t wait to see your finished project.

My original plan was turquoise & gray, but I walked out of the fabric store with red & gray. Thank you for stopping by.

Anyone who will tackle a Judy Niemeyer pattern is a pro in my book. Your little spikes look perfect so I am looking forward to seeing how they go in the quilt.

I’m an admirer of Jennys, and of you for making one of her patterns. Looking forward to seeing your progress.

Thank you for visiting. Her patterns are wonderful and this was a great way to “ease” into her techniques. I definitely will make another one.

I love the red/gray combination and really respect any quilter who undertakes a Judy Niemeyer quilt. It will be stunning when you are finished.

I would recommend this pattern as a first Judy Niemeyer quilt. She gives very complete and detailed instructions. Thank you for stopping by.
