Design Wall Monday 09-16-13

This has been a busy quilty weekend.  The binding has been attached to the front of the RRCB quilt.

The binding has been sewn down on two sides.  I think that it should be finished by the end of the week.

I have also been busy making blocks for the Blue Ridge Beauty and the Split-Nine Patches – both patterns by Bonnie Hunter.  The Blue Ridge Beauty is going to have 168 blocks with a 12 x 14 layout.  It will be twin bed size at 72″ x 84″.  Currently I have 20 completed – 1/8 of the way there!

I decided on a layout for the Split-Nine Patches.  In Brenda Henning’s Strip Therapy 5 book is a pattern called Half Log Cabin and I am laying out the Split-Nine Patches in that design.

Three projects in progress at the same time – that should keep me out of mischief.  For some inspiration check out what everyone is working on at Patchwork Times.

Great projects. That Bonnie Hunter is really keeping you busy. I like your split 9 patch, I maybe will need to try that.

Nothing like binding a big quilt. You go girl. Your split 9 patch is coming along nicely.

Thank you for stopping by. I enjoy hand sewing the binding down and looking at all the piecing & quilting, but taking the final stitch is the best.

Some where I have some Blue Ridge patches started! Love your layout for your split 9 patch. Another favorite block for mine.

Thank you for stopping by. I know exactly what you mean – I made about 20 four patches for Blue Ridge 3 years ago and then they just collected dust. But now is their time. Your patches will have their day in the sun also.

Your RRCB is beautiful. And the other two quilts you are working on are on my to-do also. I admire you being able to work on two at a time. If I tried that I’d have everything all mixed up. lol

Thank you. So far I haven’t mixed up split 9 patches with Blue Ridge patches, but I did sew a half square triangle on the wrong way – twice. Seam ripper is my friend.
