Three down – two to go.
This project was started 5 or 6 years ago. There was a three part quilt sampler in a magazine that I decided to make. I pulled out purple, orange and green fat quarters from a Jinny Beyer collection and started making blocks. All the blocks from part one were completed, but then the project stalled. After four years as a UFO, I pulled it out in 2011, decided that the original quilt was no longer interesting or my style, and put the finished blocks in this setting. Actually I had enough finished blocks to make two quilt tops, but this is the one that was finished.
I started out with gray thread and an allover quilting design, but ended up with invisible thread and a 2″ cross hatch. When something doesn’t work, try something different.
This quilt is a donation quilt, so even though it isn’t my favorite I know that someone out there will be happy to give it a home.
